materials

Mother Nature gives us the most beautiful materials for delicate children's skin. Sheep's wool, silk, cotton, alpaca and cashmere flatter and protect small and large minimalists.

Natural materials counteract itching and soothe skin aches.

Even in sunny and warm months, cardigans and the like are suitable, as they help our pets regulate their body temperature. Wool textiles are, similar to the human skin, dirt-repellent, breathable and wick away skin-irritating moisture.

The high quality and durability of our Wolleli textiles make them a precious alternative to quick consumption. Knitwear made of wool is elastic and grows with you.

In order to enjoy our garments for a long time, we ask you to pay special attention to the care instructions for your wool treasures. The recommended washing will ensure a long and exciting life for your natural favourite.

Wool

New wool insulates, adapts to the shape of the body, is dirt-repellent and has a temperature-balancing effect. It is obtained from sheep and is the oldest natural useful fibre used by humans.

Merino wool is one of the finest types of sheep's wool. It has self-cleaning properties. Often, simply airing it is enough. Visible dirt can be washed out in places by hand with cold water and without strong friction. Merino wool loves its wool grease. Please wash it rarely and do not leave it in water. To avoid deformation, we recommend rolling your favorite piece briefly in a towel and then laying it flat on a new towel to dry. Your favourite piece does not like to be wrung. It also doesn't like sun and heating.

Wool & Silk

Wool and silk envelops and caresses us pleasantly like a second skin. It is particularly skin-friendly and easily adapts to the body temperature of our darlings. Whether it's summer or winter, the wool and silk blend doesn't care.

We have the silkworm to thank for silk. It is an animal protein fiber with anti-inflammatory, healing properties. It is similar in its components to the structure of human skin and makes wool softer and smoother. This makes it ideal for sensitive baby and children's skin. Both fibres have the special property of being able to absorb a third of their weight in moisture and quickly transport it to the outside. Thus, the favorite piece and the favorite person stays dry sooner than with a cotton piece, which absorbs the moisture.

Joha garments can also be machine washed without any problems. It is enough to follow the indications of the sewn-in washing instructions. Precious items from Selana wish to be hand washed. Here, too, you may follow the instructions on the label. To avoid deformation, we recommend rolling up your favourite piece briefly in a towel and then laying it flat on a new towel to dry. Your favourite piece does not like to be wrung. It also doesn't like sun and heating.

Cotton

Cotton is obtained from the seed hairs of the cotton plant. It is a time-honored crop that enjoys the highest popularity. Its wearing comfort and skin compatibility is also suitable for allergy sufferers. Cotton absorbs 65% of its weight in water but, unlike animal wool, dries comparatively slowly and can feel uncomfortably wet. Nevertheless, it is wonderfully durable and reliably protects your charges against heat.

Alpaca

The velvety soft alpaca fiber is not only very valuable because it is particularly light and warm, but it is, thanks to its low wool fat content, also particularly suitable for allergy sufferers. Originally, the cuddly alpacas come from South America (Peru). The high-quality yarn is impermeable to UV rays, stores heat in winter and dissipates heat in summer. The handling of alpaca wool is similar to that of wool (merino wool). Alpaca wool also has self-cleaning properties. Often simple airing is sufficient. Visible soiling can be washed out by hand in places with cold water and without strong friction. Please wash them rarely and do not leave them in water. To avoid deformation, we recommend rolling your favourite piece briefly in a towel and then laying it flat on a new towel to dry. Your favourite piece does not like to be wrung. It also doesn't like sun and heating.

If you don't wash by hand, use the hand wash cycle on your washing machine if possible. Wool clothing does not like to be spun. They then become matted.

Cashmere

Cashmere is the queen of wool. The yarn is obtained from the undercoat of the cashmere goat and comes from the Himalayan region of India, Mongolia or China. It is combed out by hand. Per year and goat, about 100 grams are obtained, which justifies the price of this noble material. Cashmere is also very comfortable to wear in summer. The wool is particularly light and provides valuable warmth. Although it is not quite as durable as other woollens, cashmere loves water. It likes to bathe in your washing machine's wool program and then spin out on a low spin cycle. Cashmere loves to be treated with cashmere detergent or tried and tested wool detergent. But it may also be once hair shampoo or conditioner.

If you prefer to wash by hand, do not wring your favourite piece afterwards. To avoid deformation, we recommend that you briefly roll up your favourite piece in a towel and then lay it flat on a new towel to dry.

If you like, you can cover it briefly with a damp towel and steam it on the lowest setting. Don't move the iron back and forth as you would when ironing, but put it down for a short moment. Afterwards, your cashmere treasure will be fluffy again and shine with a refined stitch pattern. You can carefully remove small knots. Please be careful with Velcro. Cashmere and velcro do not get along at all.
